Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about volunteering with LIDA

We appreciate any time you can give, but we generally ask for a minimum commitment of 4-6 hours per week for at least three months. This allows volunteers to fully engage with projects and make a meaningful impact. However, we also offer flexible options for those with limited availability, including one-time event volunteering.

While some specialized roles (like healthcare or technical positions) may require specific qualifications, many of our volunteer opportunities are open to anyone with passion and commitment. We provide necessary training and support for most volunteer positions. What's most important is your willingness to learn and dedication to making a positive impact.

We offer both in-person and remote volunteering opportunities. While many of our projects involve direct community engagement in Kenya, we also have remote positions in areas such as digital marketing, grant writing, research, and administrative support. Please specify your location preferences when applying.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old for most positions. However, we do offer special youth volunteer programs for those aged 15-17 with parental consent. These programs are designed to provide meaningful volunteer experiences while ensuring appropriate supervision and safety.
